SpeedScope Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 2026-06-26 | Effective Date: 2026-06-26 | 简体中文
Welcome to SpeedScope ("we", "us", or "the App"). SpeedScope is a lightweight website performance and network diagnostics tool — you enter a URL, and the App uses Google's PageSpeed Insights service to analyze its loading performance and measures the network connection latency to the target host. The App has no account system, requires no registration or login, and does not collect or upload your personal data to any server we operate; your test history is stored only locally on your device. We take your privacy seriously. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before using the App.
1. Who We Are
App name: SpeedScope
Developer: Shenzhen Zhilun Effect Technology Co., Ltd.
Contact email: support@flywheeleffect.net
2. Our Core Commitment: We Do Not Collect Your Personal Data
SpeedScope has no user account system and requires no registration or login. We do not send or collect your personal information, device identifiers, location, or behavioral profiling data to any server we operate. We do not build user profiles, do not run ad tracking, and do not sell or share your personal information with any third party.
3. Data Stays Local on Your Device
Any data created while using the App is stored only locally on your device, including: your test history (the tested URLs, performance scores, individual metrics, and timestamps), app settings (default test strategy, appearance preferences, etc.), and the optional PageSpeed Insights API key you may enter. This data is kept on your device using the iOS local database (SwiftData) and local storage. We do not upload, sync, or analyze it. Uninstalling the App deletes all local data. You can also delete any or all test records at any time from the "History" section in the App.
4. Network Requests and Third-Party Services
To provide its core features, the App makes network requests in the following cases. Note that these requests are triggered when you actively start a test:
4.1 Google PageSpeed Insights (Performance Analysis)
When you start a performance test, the App sends the URL you entered (and the test strategy, e.g. mobile/desktop) to Google's PageSpeed Insights API endpoint (pagespeedonline.googleapis.com) to retrieve the performance score, Core Web Vitals, and other metrics for that URL. Apart from the tested URL, this request contains none of your personally identifying information. Data you send to Google is governed by the Google Privacy Policy, and the App has no control over how Google processes it.
4.2 Connection Latency Test (TCP Ping)
The App opens a single TCP connection directly to the target host you entered in order to measure the network round-trip latency. This connection is used solely for the latency measurement, transmits none of your personal information, and is closed once completed.
4.3 Loading Legal Pages
When you actively tap to view legal pages such as this Privacy Policy, the App loads the page text. That request is used only to display the legal content; it carries no personal information and is not used for tracking.
5. About the PageSpeed Insights API Key
To obtain real data and a higher quota, you may enter your own PageSpeed Insights API key (obtained from the Google Cloud Console) in "Settings". This key is stored only locally on your device and is sent to Google only as part of requests to the Google PageSpeed Insights API; it is never uploaded to any server we operate. If you do not enter a key, or a network request fails, the App automatically falls back to built-in sample data so the interface remains usable — and in that case no real request is made to Google.
6. Sharing Results
The App lets you render a test result into an image card and share it via the iOS system share sheet. The card image is generated locally on your device; whether and with whom you share it is entirely your decision. The App never uploads or shares your test results automatically.
7. Third-Party SDKs and Open-Source Libraries
SpeedScope does not integrate any third-party SDK for analytics, advertising, or data collection. No analytics, crash-reporting, or ad networks are included. The system frameworks used (such as SwiftUI, SwiftData, the Network framework, and Swift Charts) are provided by Apple. Other than the functional calls to Google PageSpeed Insights described in Section 4, the App does not transmit data to any other third party.
8. System Permissions We Request
The App only needs network access to perform its measurements. It does not request the camera, location, microphone, contacts, or read/write photo-library permissions, or any other sensitive system permission.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a minor, please use the App under the guidance of a guardian.
10. Updates to This Policy
This policy may change as the App is updated. When material changes occur, we will notify you via an in-app notice or prominently on this page. We will not reduce your rights under this policy without your explicit consent. The revised policy will be published on this page with an updated date.
